BRIGHT G: Enhanced focus on sustainability at Graphmatech

SHARE

Graphene-based materials have a great potential to contribute to a sustainable world. The outstanding mechanical, conductive, and thermal properties have the potential to reinforce other materials, make them stronger, lighter, and more conductive. With the BRIGHT G-program, Graphmatech will dig deeper, explore the value chain, ensure that we minimize our negative impact, and optimize our contributions to a better world. We will conduct a materiality analysis during the fall and integrate sustainability aspects even more in our strategy.

This is just the beginning!

A breakthrough in battery recycling helps enable the green transition

Graphmatech, Graphenea, and Northvolt have succeeded in up-cycling end-of-life EV batteries into graphene oxide at industrial pilot scale. This breakthrough uses the material left after Northvolt has extracted valuable metals and minerals. Until now, that remaining material has been waste.   Emma Nehrenheim, Chief Environmental Officer of Northvolt, comments: “The upcycling of graphene oxide from recycled

Graphmatech and Wematter partner to enable cutting-edge conductive materials for SLS 3D printing

Swedish graphene-solutions provider Graphmatech is partnering with 3D printer manufacturer Wematter, the easy-to-use SLS 3D-printing platform provider for additive manufacturing. Graphmatech enhances polymer powders with Graphene, which makes them electrically- and thermally conductive, improve processibility, and more. Together, the two startups will develop an electrically conductive powder, tailored for Gravity – the SLS 3D printer
