Welcome to Graphmatech, Kristina!

“Graphmatech’s growth journey has really taken off and it will be truly inspiring to be part of it. I look forward to help mitigating some of the growth pain that usually comes with rapid growth”, says Kristina Kjellman, Senior Financial Controller.

With an impressive career covering every aspect of the financial spectrum, she will be a welcome force in the growing Graphmatech team.

What is your background?

I’ve been into finance all through my career and have a long and wide experience from a variety of industries. My career started at PRIAB and the Axel Johnsson Group, which gave me a good insight into group finance and raw material handling. Selecting from other positions, I spent some interesting years with Kinnevik (Invik) where we made an IPO, started a bank and a brewery among other things. I learned a lot during those years! Then, I moved on to Avesta Sheffield, now Outokumpu, and after that, Jane Carlgren recruited me to Telefos. I was part of that journey from the start to the very end when we divested Eltel to 3i Group. Now, I’ve spent 13 years building up a fund company called Fagerberg & Dellby, where I’ve been from the very start. It’s been quite a journey!

Who are you as a person?

I live on Lidingö, an island north-east of the Stockholm center together with my husband and two daughters, 14 and 18 years old. The oldest has just finalized high school and will join the military as grenade launcher, combined with the cavalry. She loves horses, just like her younger sister, which means that I’ve spent a lot of time in stables during their childhood. When I was a child, jazz dance was the coolest thing you could do, so I did. With the jazz, you also had to dance ballet, which I am actually still doing together with my youngest daughter. She’s really good at it. I also like to work out, preferably group training. My family spends quite some time in Skåne as well, where we have a summer house.

What do you bring to Graphmatech?

My experience. I’ve worked with finance for close to 35 years in everything from accounting and consolidating accounts to management and treasury, from large corporations to small start-ups, so I’m prepared for almost anything. Graphmatech is a growing company which usually results in a variety of challenges from a financial point of view – reporting, exchange rates, production system, purchasing – you name it, I’ve done it before.

Why do you want to work for Graphmatech?

Many things actually! First of all, graphene is a truly interesting material with a huge potential. You just don’t find this kind of job opportunity very often. Then, even though I’ve been with large companies throughout my career, I’ve worked a lot with building up and developing holdings within these companies, and I’ve always loved that part of the job. And finally, I really look forward to working with Jane Carlgren again and the rest of the team.

We look forward to welcoming you in September!
