Graphmatech is a Sweden-based material technology company that invents, develops, and supplies novel materials for sustainable industrial use.
Our Story
Dr. Mamoun Taher founded Graphmatech in 2017 on the strength of his invention, Aros Graphene, that enables the use of graphene in large scale industrial processes.
In close collaboration with our customers, Graphmatech develops, tests and certifies materials to solve their pressing material problems and improve their sustainability.
We are especially proud of our polymer-graphene composites, which are excellent barriers and remarkably conductive. When they're used in new or retrofitted hydrogen infrastructure, like pipes and pressure vessels, they reduce hydrogen leakage by up to 85%. Hydrogen is expensive, so reducing leakage is profitable. At scale, they can reduce CO2e emissions by hundreds of millions of tons.
As we continue to innovate, we're also exploring new frontiers, such as metal coatings that eliminate the need for lubricants and metal-graphene composites with enhanced durability and conductivity.

Patented
Technology
Our unique Aros Graphene® is a patented graphene hybrid material technology which has solved the long-standing agglomeration issue in graphene applications. Invented by our founder, Dr. Mamoun Taher, the technology keeps graphene layers separate, enabling large scale industrial use of inexpensive graphene.
Aros Graphene® takes its name from Uppsala and Västerås, the two cities where Graphmatech started. The Vikings used to call them Östra Aros (East Aros) and Västra Aros (West Aros).
We have protected our method for coating particles with a thin layer of graphene, along with several of the resultant materials. Coating particles of diverse materials with graphene allows them to take on some of the properties of graphene, rendering them more conductive, robust, and smoother.
Thereby, Graphmatech makes a variety of different materials from the same technology base.

Location
Graphmatech is located in central Uppsala, Sweden, a ten minute walk from the train station and only a few kilometers from the Ångström Laboratory, one of Northern Europe's best material science labs.

Health Grant
We support employee wellness by reimbursing up to 4000 SEK a year for activities promoting health and well-being such as gym memberships, personal training sessions, massages, and more.

Vacation
At Graphmatech, employees get 30 days of paid vacation per calendar year (January 1 to December 31) for full-time employment. This means you can use your vacation days before you have earned them.
